All Saints as we celebrate 50 years of the present building and prepare for the future

Message from Andie Brown,

I can tell you that the PCC Standing Committee are working hard to prepare the programme of celebrations and final services for All Saints as we celebrate 50 years of the present building and prepare for the future. One of the things we are doing of course is to renovate the Hall; this won’t now happen until he summer, but it will cost in the region of £40k minimum and once we have them agreed with everyone we will publish the plans but it will include a re-furbishment of all the pathways and entrances, including a whole new approach to the front door which will be wheelchair friendly and take into account the vast increase in traffic in recent decades. There will be an entirely new kitchen (including a new ceiling) and re-furbished storage spaces. It will be one of, if not the major way in which the parish worshipping communities engage with the local community, and Messy Church and Celtic Communion will go ahead in there and we hope to develop other new services in there in the coming years, the sorts of services not suited to traditional church buildings but which are proving greatly attractive to many these days.

The dates we have agreed on for the final services are:

Saturday 18th March 2017 at 3pm – Service of Renewal of Marriage Vows followed by Afternoon Tea and Prosecco

Sunday 26th March 2017 at 10.30am – Service of Renewal of Baptismal Vows as part of the Mothering Sunday Joint All Age Praise Service followed by refreshments

Sunday 23rd April 2017 at 3pm – A 50th Birthday Celebration of All Saints to be attended by dignitaries and ex clergy followed by wine and nibbles

Sunday 30th April 2017 at 10.30am – All Saints’ Final Service will be a joint parish communion service followed by wine and nibbles
